Privacy Policy of eSchool® Online
eSchool® Online (“eSchool") is committed to safeguarding the privacy and the
personally identifiable information of all visitors to the eSchool® website and the
privacy and personally identifiable information of all users of the eSchool® Online
educational courses. This privacy statement sets forth the eSchool® information
gathering and dissemination practices with respect thereto.
Non-Registrants’ Information
eSchool® does not collect any information from casual visitors to this website
who do not register (and have not previously registered) for any eSchool®
educational course.
Registrants’ and Users’ Information
eSchool® only collects information from those persons who are registering (or
have previously registered) for an eSchool® educational course. The eSchool®
registration form requires registrants to provide (i) contact information (e.g.,
their name, mailing address, and email address), (ii) unique identifiers (e.g.,
the log-in name and password selected by the user for purposes of registering
for and thereafter accessing a particular course), and (iii) certain specific
information (e.g., their age, which we use to identify children under the age of
14, from whom we do not collect any contact information). Moreover, as
registered users participate in any eSchool® course, they may be required to
interact with and navigate through the respective course and may be asked to
respond to questions intended to enhance or assess their understanding of the
course content or to provide feedback regarding the course itself. Those
interactions and responses are stored in the eSchool® database. All of the
foregoing personal information and in-course interactions and responses are
hereafter referred to as “personal information”.
eSchool® educational courses are administered or distributed by eSchool® for and
on behalf of, and in conjunction with, the respective third party or parties
(the eSchool® “partner(s)”) that underwrite or sponsor the respective course. In
order to enable the respective eSchool® partner(s) for any particular course to
administer and distribute that course, eSchool® shares with such partner(s) all
of the personal information obtained from the registrants for and users of that
course. In consequence thereof, any respective partner’s use of a registrant’s
or user’s personal information will be governed by that partner’s privacy
policy, not by the eSchool® privacy policy, and each registrant and user is advised
to review, prior to registering for and prior to using any eSchool® course, the
respective privacy policy of each of the respective partner(s) sponsoring or
underwriting that course.
eSchool® uses the foregoing personal information to safeguard access to eSchool®
educational courses, to verify that course participants are legitimate, to
monitor and evaluate (and assist the course partner(s) to monitor and evaluate)
each participant’s course participation and performance, and to evaluate and
improve eSchool® courses.
eSchool® will not share any personal information for any educational course with
any third party that is not the partner (or one of the partners) sponsoring or
underwriting that course.
The eSchool® website and many of the eSchool® educational courses also contain
links to other websites. Those websites do not have access to any registrant’s
or user’s personal information within the eSchool® database, and eSchool® does not
provide any personal information to any such websites. However, any registration
or other information that any user may elect to provide to any such website
(e.g., by registering thereon, by answering questions thereon, or by requesting
any information, products or services therefrom) will become subject to that
website’s privacy policy. eSchool® does not control, and expressly disclaims
responsibility for, the privacy practices and the content of any such other
website.
Bulletin Boards
Certain eSchool® courses make bulletin boards available to their users. Please
remember that any information that is disclosed by the user on a course bulletin
board becomes public information. Users should exercise caution whenever
considering whether to disclose any personal information on any course bulletin
board.
Security
eSchool® has security measures in place intended to protect against the loss,
misuse and alteration of the information under eSchool’s control.
Children's Guidelines
In order to avoid the collection of any personal information (such as name,
address, etc.) from users under 14 years of age, the eSchool® registration
process first requires all registrants to enter their ages. eSchool does not
request or otherwise collect any personal information from any person entering
an age of 13 or under.
